Absolute Power Corrupts
Last night we had a proctor man (incoprorated herein by reference as "Proctor Man") who took his job as a zealous crusade. Students were required to put their notes up to the front about 45 minutes early and the classroom sat in silence for about 20 minutes before the exam began with Proctor Man on patrol. My favorite part was when Proctor Man went up to a guy and told him to sit up straight in his chair saying, "Don't you even care that you're about to take an exam?" Glad he told this to Brian Cruz, member of Law Review and Moot Court and the coolest guy ever. I guess Proctor Man got confused and thought his job was to monitor the posture of students before the test began as everyone knows that good posture=good grades and strong moral fiber.
Sitting there under his control reminded me of the experiment they did at Stanford with students mimicking prisoners and guards. It's scary to think what power can do to people.
