Responsibility

When I hear "drinking responsibly," I think of my DARE class in fifth grade and interesting experiences with impaired judgment. I never thought this slogan would apply to energy drinks.

Only 37 More to Go!

Before I die I have a list of things to do. And this weekend I was able to check off No 3!!! I picked blueberries! I left the ranch with a purple tongue stuffed full of blueberries and happiness. BLUEBERRY would be so proud.

* I also discovered that my Yale bound younger genius brother who received an almost perfect SAT score without studying, who bench presses three times my weight, who actually uses large words regularly in his vocabulary and knows how to spell them , is unable to pick blueberries that are ripe. Somehow, picking blueberries that are BLUE rather than white is too hard.

I See

I've killed large spiders, dined on month old leftovers, suffered through bikini waxes, and used public restrooms without a toilet seat cover. Needless to say I'm fearless. But inserting contacts into my eyes for the first time was one of the scariest things I've ever done. Seriously. After attending an eye exam where I learned that my vision has declined to -1.00 in my right eye and -.50 in my left eye thanks to law school, I spent 20 minutes trying to insert one contact. I had two people trying to help me. Tears were running down my face as though a loved one died. Even my nose was running. At one point I broke down and told the worker that I'd rather just get glasses. But of course, I couldn't quit. She didn't let me. Finally, after about a half hour both contacts were in. The sense of accomplishment I felt was equivalent to running a marathon. I was a winner! And then they told me that I had to take the contacts out. Hmmm. Let's just say I picked the glasses with the black frames.

Sugar and Spice

This summer, in less than a month, I've written complaints, demurrers, a motion to strike, attended depositions, met with clients, gone to court proceedings including an oral argument for the Court of Appeals in Pasadena, and worn out a pair of black high heels. Besides having no idea what I'm doing, at least two cups of coffee in the morning, and only one suit that I wear almost everyday, life is sweet.

Dear Dedicated Blog Readers (i.e. mom and santa):

My deepest apologies for not blogging in many days. I will resume my meaningless ramble postings shortly.
